Update!

Buenos Dias!

It's around 5:40PM on Wednesday. I'm at a tourist location where I can get free internet during certain times of the day - YAY cool! So I figured I'd update a little bit!

My Flamenco class is great. I can't clap and stomp my foot at the same time, but 3 hours a day of history & culture isn't as bad as I thought it would be. My teacher is muy guay (very cool) and doesn't assign much work because she knows we are here to see Spain, not homework books! I lucked out. I love her! Also, my señora taught me how to make coffee in her coffee pot (I believe it's an Italian coffee press? Or something?) so having that before class makes it even more bearable!

I've been here for a whole week now! It feels like so much longer than that. I'm trying to take advantage of every opportunity that I can, so it feels like the days are flying by. Some updates:

I'm going to Morrocco this weekend with a bunch of people. I can't wait! How cool to say I'll have been to AFRICA as well as Europe! It's not far from Sevilla, we're taking a bus and a ferry. I hope the weather works in our favor!

I've been walking around everywhere that I can so I become adjusted to where I am and to find new places. Yesterday I found a second hand store named "Humana" and I bought a cardigan for 7 euros and a book for 1 euro! The book is about education. I like reading (ex. the magazine my senora has) because it helps me learn the language more because it's a visual. Also, walking is good exercise! I feel like we eat so much fats at meals! My señora says every time that the special ingredient is olive oil that makes the food taste so good. Yikes. Speaking of fats, I'm going to the gym after I post this post. I am going to buy a membership because I need to fit in the few clothes that I have packed!!!!

We also have planned activities in small groups. Yesterday we went to "yogurtlandia" - yes, yogurtlandia. Frozen. Yogurt. Can you imagine how happy I was? I didn't even have to pay for it. MMmmmMMmMM soo good I love FroYo even in Spain! I took a picture of it because I thought it was hilarious that it was called yogurtlandia. Still laughing. Then after we walked around, I did some shopping & I bought the "denim" shirt that I'm wearing in the picture I attached - I AM OBSESSED WITH IT. I love their style here and I just want to buy everything. Are you catching onto this lifestyle? Buy, eat, sleep..........aren't these bad habits? Hmm..Oh well!

I'm supposed to have an intercambio - a Spanish student that wants to learn English and that I can practice my Spanish on, but they haven't answered my e-mails...Sad. I should get another one hopefully!

Finally, today I went to see a woman about a volunteer opportunity while I'm here. It's through an organization called Gota de Leche. They provide underpriveledged children with breakfast before school. It is once a week where I go to a school and help prepare and encourage them to eat and drink all of their breakfast! It will be a great opportunity, and I am very excited. I believe I start Monday.

I'm becoming better and better at understanding Spanish every day! It's so much brain power, so siestas (naps) are absolutely necessary, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do!

Well I should go to the gym now....Hasta luego, amigos!
